IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD
John 1:1-2 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. In this particular scripture "Word" is from the Greek logos, meaning something said, mental reasoning, thought, expression, intention. Jesus is the Word, the logos, the thought, intention, mind, image and expression of God. The writer Apostle John who was inspired by the Holy Spirit gives us the understanding of the person of Jesus throughout the Gospel of John. The point he brings home in this first chapter (John 1) is that the eternal God himself, became human, he became flesh. In the beginning, was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word was God. (John 1:1) In John chapter one we are given a snap shot of John the baptist, whom was assigned to go before Jesus as the forerunner to tell the world about his coming, his purpose for coming and what his coming would mean to those who would believe on his name.
